Catharine W. Menninger was an active member of PTPI in our early years. She wrote various reports about the organization.

The National Council of People to People Community Chapters met again in Kansas City on March 19, 20, 1966 at which time members of the staff and council discussed in detail the People to People concept and the direction that should be taken in the future.
The executive committee later approved the recommendation of the staff, that:
The Community Chapter program should become the area of paramount concentration as far as the corporation’s field operations are concerned. In line with this shift in emphasis, the university program will become an adjunct of the Community Chapter effort ….[thus] approach to a given campus will be through the community People to People entity in a particular locality.
