The People to People International Chapter of Interlaken invites you to experience a unique folkloric festival in the heart of the Swiss Alps which takes place only every 12 – 13 years.
What began in 1805 as a festival to unify city dwellers and country folk is today believed to be the world’s largest traditional gathering. And it returns in 2017! Swiss wrestlers, Alpine herdsmen and members of traditional costume groups will be convening in Interlaken for a folklore event that’s truly extraordinary.
The festival runs from Saturday, 26 August to Sunday, 3 September 2017 with a diverse array of catering outlets, stalls and presentations, plus a 10-metre shooting range, mini Hornussen pitch, boulder throwing for everyone and lots of other exciting things to do. This is the place to be!
